Nintendo Australia's Rose Lapping has announced her retirement from the company, after 16 years of service.
Lappin joined Nintendo back in 1994 as the State Manager of the then Queensland office, and was heavily involved in the development of Nintendo Australia. Prior to '94 Nintendo products were distributed in Australia by Mattel. In 2000 Lappin began her new post as General Manager of Sales before becoming Director of Sales and Marketing in 2003 and finally taking over as Managing Director in 2007.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Nintendo Australia and have enjoyed working with everybody here. Nintendo Australia, and Nintendo globally, is made up of some fantastic people, and it has been an honour to be the Managing Director for almost three years," says Lappin.
"Nintendo has been through many exciting changes during my time here, so it has been great to be a part of that. I love the gaming industry, and will definitely miss it."
Mr Yuji Bando will head over from Japan to take over as Managing Director of Nintendo Australia.

Matteh said: I didn't know who she was until I read this article, though I've heard her name before. Hopefully the new guy allows us to get games same time as everyone else does, instead of a year later. =D
