DS Lite Comfort Stylus Description:

The comfort stylus is a stylus that you bend to fit around your thumb and allows you to still press buttons. This pack also includes one Invisi-Shield a special screen protector which prevents stylus scratches.

it'd be a pretty stupid design flaw if it didn't...

besides, there's nothing wrong with the stylus you get WITH the ds.
