So I wanted to play a few hours of Call of Duty 4 a few days back, only to find out that my XBOX 360 had hit the bricks for the second time in 12 months. How dandy!
I guess that video not only shows how exactly my XBOX 360 had "hit the bricks" but also how much free time I have my hands to be able to make such a video. That's right, I have no life.
I find it quite ironic though that my 360 decided to die on me around the same time Toshiba finally took HD-DVD to the vet to have it put down. I've been a decent follower of HD-DVD but never a die-hard believer in the format (or Blu-Ray), but I did go a little crazy, purchase wise. I've got 10 HD-DVD's in my collection which equates to about $400 worth. How depressing.
But what's so ironic is that I won't actually be able to watch the new HD-DVD's I've bought recently - Unforgiven, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift and Knocked Up - because I have no damn HD-DVD player to watch them on.
You see, my only source of HD-DVD playback was through my dreaded 360 console. How damn dandy!
This may very well be gods way I've punishing me for getting into the HD-DVD format. He might be trying to persuade me into selling both my 360 add-on and HD-DVD collection. But I'm not very religious anyway. I think the truth is that, subconsciously, I'm trying to persuade myself to get rid of the whole lot and focus on Blu-Ray, and that I'm using god and me not being very religious as way of convincing myself I still want them.
Perhaps I can use my 360 add-on for other reasons -
