Atlus, the company that is notable for creating games such as Trauma Center and Shin Megami Tensei, have put together a first-person RPG for the DS. What is unique about The Dark Spire is the fact that there are two forms of presentation.

The first is a modern mode which feels fresh and up to date, complete with colourful and detailed graphics. Also included is a classic mode, which recreates the simplicity of the genre as it was in the 80's.

It will be interesting to see how the game plays out in both styles. The Dark Spire should be able to cater for gamers who want to play a modern RPG as well as those who prefer an old-school nostalgic feel.
