The developer has not released many furthur details concerning the release of the new version, but assures it will be out soon and the current pricing of $10 registration will remain the same, despite the revamped interface.
If you are interested in giving DS Game Creation a go before James releases DS Game Maker 3.0 (pictured), you can find the current version by Googling "DS Game Maker".

DSGM in its current form is just a front end for programing in C using the PALib library.
As this is the case.. The games are only as 1. poor as the programmers knowledge, 2. can teach you how to program 3.see 1 and 2.
Sure DSGM 3 will be even easier for the new user to use but again, knowing how to program will benefit your game making.

theres even a handheld console called the GPx2 i think that can run RPGmaker on the console... the DS needs something like this...
