US, May 4, 2007 - Last week, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata held a conference to talk about company financials and to outline its plan for the year. At the Japan-hosted event, Iwata noted that the Big N had 45 Wii games and another 79 DS titles in development. Now, through officially released financial documents, we've gained a much deeper understanding of which titles players can look forward to this year - both in Japan and in America.
Nintendo officially states that the following games will be coming out for DS in Japan in 2007:
* Osu! Tatakae! Oendan 2 - 5/17/2007
* Kurikin Nano Island Story - 5/24/2007
* DS Medikara Training - 5/31/2007
* Sujin Taisen - 6/7/2007
* The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass - 6/23/2007
* Pokemon Fushigi no Dungeon A (Temp) - 2007
* Pokemon Fushigi no Dungeon B (Temp) - 2007
* Archaic Sealed Heat - 2007
* Mario & Sonic in Beijing Olympic Games (Temp) - 2007
Not a bad little list of games, and some definite potential for the US 2007 year. Games like Oendan 2 - the sequel to Elite Beat Agents here in America - could very well make their way over to the US for 2008, as well as Sujin Taisen (Ninja Gaiden) which is already confirmed to have a release here in the Americas. Mario & Sonic in Beijing Olympic Games is also confirmed for the US already, so it's yet another title to keep your eyes on over the following months. Another addition to that list is Archaic Sealed Heat, which is a game we know very little about, but is a tactical role-playing game by developer Mistwalker; definitely one to keep your eyes on. As for the rest of 2007 here in the United States, Nintendo has the beginnings of the release list worked out as well.

Not a huge list thus far, but it's at least a start, with games like Planet Puzzle League confirmed for 2007, and Phantom Hourglass looming on the horizon as well. It also seems we'll have to wait on games like DK: King of Swing DS, DS Air, and Chibi Robo, but there's always the possibility of moving one or more of those games to 2007 to fill any gaps. As for third-party games, Nintendo had more dates to uncover.

Once you throw in the third party software, things start to look up for the 2007 year in DS-land. Obviously more titles will be added to the list as the months go on (especially once the new E3 is over), so the list will only be growing from this point on. Between Nintendo DS and Wii, Mario and the gang should have one heck of a year ahead of them, and you'll want to be sure you stay current on what's hot and what's not in the land of the Big N.
