In FF: Gaiden players take on the role of a 14-year-old boy who is summoned by a King to save his daughter, a princess who has been kidnapped by a witch.

It is an RPG in which you encounter characters throughout the stories and have the ability to create a party of 4 with these characters. The battle system lacks the presence of a "Charge" command and also a lack of MP.

The game allows customization and the characters physical appearance can be altered by changing equipment of the character.

Two warriors of light can be seen at the teaser sight and over the coming days two more characters should appear on the dragon. Japan is set to receive FF: Gaiden this fall.


Jump confirms that those characters, as many have guessed based off the teaser site artwork, are designed by Akihiko Yoshida, who previously worked on Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy XII.
