Way Forward is bringing Contra 4 to the Nintendo DS, so far it looks great, I’m definitely excited, being a fan of the old style 2D shoot’ em up I’m rapped that Way Forward has kept the original style game play from the previous Contra Games. Designed as a direct sequel of Contra but with some new features which include new weapon options and wireless two player gaming. In Contra 4 you now have ability to hold more than one weapon simultaneously and switch between them, or combine the weapons to make a more powerful weapon, and a grappling hook.
Producer Tomm Hulett said "Anyone who's played Contra III on Virtual Console recently should be able to jump right into Contra 4 and feel right at home."
Way Forward is using The New Super Mario Brothers game as inspiration when developing Contra 4 keeping the original style game play and building upon that. I say keep it simple and enjoy the game play.
