MapleStory DS, was announced at E³ in 2006 It will be the Nintendo DS version of the online mmorpg game MapleStory. It is currently under develpoment and is rumored to be released in September 07. MapleStory DS will be the third Nintendo DS game developed by a Korean company. It is an adaptation of the PC version of the game and will include much of the same features and gameplay as the original with many new features as well, along with the feature of not playing on wifi, or playing on wifi, so alot less competision while training.

Nexon, CEO, David Lee said (rough translation)
“ We are interested in the characteristics and strategy contents of the Nintendo DS and decided to develop games for it, and we agreed on a large part of the plan with Nintendo. ”


On January 9, 2007, near the official release of the Nintendo DS Lite in Korea, Nexon and the newly established Nintendo of Korea showcased MapleStory DS for the first time.Featuring many of the established features of the PC version, this exclusive version of the popular MMORPG will also sport all new features and content. The Korean version of the game will first be released in September 2007, complete with a special Nintendo DS Lite/MapleStory bundle release, with other territories including the US, Australia, Europe and Japan also planned to be released in September 2007.
