On 2007-07-11 a picture was uploaded to promote the "new" Golden Sun game. It was apparently shown at a pre-E3 show a taken on a mobile phone. The description that came with the game is as follows:

- You control Felix
- The story seems like a continuation of 'The Lost Age' (although I only sampled a very small section)
- The story and text were the first things completed on the game as the developers wanted a strong story
- Touch Screen controls (similar to Animal Crossing / Zelda DS)
- Touch screen psynergy
- pseudo-3D graphics (very similar look to the GBA games however some elements of 3D)

It was announced several days later that it was a fake and was made to generate publicity for the series to try and get Camelot to make a new game. It is currently unknown though if the announced Camelot RPG for the wii is a new Golden Sun game.
