A comparison shot appears on Kotaku, showing one of the new Red/Onyx DS Lites next to an old black one Apparently the brightness is set the same on both, and the viewing angle for both screens is about the same.

The new screen seems to be much duller than the old one. Note: this apparently not because of a duller screen, but the LCD viewing angle.

They're asking for people to send in their observations.
