Features
As with most Mario Party games, an emphasis will be put on the game's multiplayer aspect. A new element to the series is the use of the Download Play functionality of the Nintendo DS to allow four people to play wirelessly using only one game card. A scan of a Nintendo booklet also shows the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection logo on a page concerning Mario Party DS,[5] hinting at some sort of online functionality. Much like Mario Party 8 before it, it will have a unique theme, this time a Honey, I Shrunk the Kids-like theme. Also new to the series is Comic Book-style cutscenes, Acording to new screenshots.

Modes
* Story Mode- The player plays random boards with CPUs.

* Party Mode- The player plays ramdom boards with up to four other players.

* Minigame Mode- The player plays unlocked minigames.

* Puzzle Mode- The player plays one of five mario themed puzzle games.
