Called Blue Dragon Plus, the game is scheduled for release in Japan in March 2008.

Pocketgamer UK reports that the game will be an RPG with real-time battle system. Characters will remain the same, but shadows will play a more important role in the handheld version.

There is some disagreement about the game style, with some sites quoting RTS and others real-time simulation RPG.
