When Sim City DS was released on the DS last year, it didn't recieve the same amount of attention previous titles in the franchise have attracted. After all, Sim City DS is a re-worked version of Sim City 2000, which is often considered the most influential of the Sim-franchise.

However, the game didn't fly of shelves and got average reviews throughout the industry. Luckily, EA is willing to lick their wounds and try again with Sim City 2 set to be released on the DS later on this year.

Beyond the same-old, city building gameplay, you'll also be able to travel back in time to ancient Japan and medieval times which sounds very interesting and exciting.
