The first batch of Civilization Revolution screens have hit for the Nintendo DS and it's looking to be a pretty authentic port of the long running, hit after hit, Civilization series.
We've also had a few details shared with us about this new entry into the Civilization Saga:
-Fixaris will be giving us a total of 16 civilizations in this edition. Each with different strengths and weaknesses, players will find themselves new challenges with each one.
-Historical Leaders will be returning for the DS conquest, allowing players to lead with figures such as Abe Lincoln and Mao Zedong to name a couple. Each will come with a set of 4 special abilities, giving players the advantage over their enemies and allies alike.
-Diplomacy will return with its much loved portrayal of nation leader's emotion, allowing you to gauge the response in more ways than just what they say.
-Travel the world over, exploring for lost relics and technologies, and fighting it out with enemy nations and barbarian hordes.
-The DS edition is set to feature a stream lined gameplay and map system, allowing you to hop into the action of Civilization faster.
Civilzation Revolution will feature some seriously kick ass multiplayer features as well, such as:
-Up to 4 players can battle as teams, head to head, or have a complete free-for-all together in one place or over Wi-Fi.
-Simultaneous Moves – no more waiting your turn, just make your move when you’re ready.
-Early Withdrawal From the Game – a player can drop out and the game will keep going.
-Team Play with handicapping
And finally our favorite feature of all, 'Game of the Week.'
Each week both Xbox 360 and DS users will find a brand new map from the brains at Firaxis. You'll be able to play through on the DS, learning strategies and tactics, and then be able to pounce on your foes on Xbox Live. Achieve the highest score and you'll find your name on the Civ Game of the Week Xbox Live leader boards, bringing about some serious world wide competition in global hit of a series.
All up the MyDS crew is pumped about this title, hopefully it'll bring us everything we've wanted in hand held, world wide conquest.
