Over the past few weeks we've seen the likes of Brain and Sight Training take out the top places in the Aussie gaming sales. Ubisoft look set to cash in on the phenomena that is games that are good for you with their latest effort My Weight Loss Coach. The (non) game is designed to help players take steps to a healthier life through managing their weight and will include a new peripheral, a pedometer. “My Weight Loss Coach allows us to approach casual gamers with something innovative,” said Tony Key, the senior vice president of sales and marketing at Ubisoft. “The game creates customized coaching sessions based on skill level, and, for the first time on DS, includes a pedometer. My Weight Loss Coach not only allows users to take control of their physical well-being, but it does so in a fun and engaging manner.” Players set up a profile which tracks their physical and nutritional habits which can be logged on a daily or weekly basis, the software then makes recommendations based on the analysis of the data. The bundled pedometer can update information to the DS as Ubisoft say “it’s the best way to control your daily physical effort, challenge yourself and balance your food intake. Each new achievement, whether they be physical activities or good nutrition habits, are converted into“measurable distances based on real examples.”
