No we don't condone Playing DS while driving but driving on your DS is a different story. Race Driver: GRID has just been announced by Atari and Codemasters and will be racing onto the DS around the same time as the console versions.

Developed by Firebrand Games, Race Driver: GRID on the DS (like it's its big console brothers) will focus on the most important aspect of driving, The Race. The developer will be cutting down on aspects like upgrading exterior features in the DS version in order to deliver the best racing experience.

Championship and Race Events will be present in the 'huge career mode' along side challenges. Races will take place on real life tracks across 3 different continents in various locations. A track editor is also included and will allow gamers to edit 60 custom tracks or use the free draw mode to quickly whip up their own creations. Multilayer ties off the package nicely which allows 4 players to play simultaneously and will include full online leader boards.

Prepare to strap yourself in the drivers seat sometime in winter 2008 when Race Driver: GRID should be landing down under.
