Activision has announced that it will not be attending E3, the Media and Business Summit this year. The summit will miss out on Activision's new titles Call of Duty 5 and Guitar Hero 4 as well as all their other offerings.

Activision released this statement:

After careful consideration, for business reasons Activision has decided not to participate in any official E3 activities. We wish the ESA best of luck with the show.

Activision is still having a press meeting on the first night of the event.
The company also announced that it will completely pull out of the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) which raises funds from E3 to fund such things as the ESRB rating system. Other company's such as NC Soft, id Software, Codemasters, Her Entertainment and Vivendi have also announced their departure from the association.

If the #1 company is pulling out of E3, does this mean the death of this summit?
