So most of us know that Nintendo is bringing us a Fire Emblem DS which has a translated title, not official title, of Fire Emblem: New Dark Dragon and the Sword of Light.

This Fire Emblem game is set to be a remake of the original Fire Emblem game that started it all. The game will be keeping the original basics but one difference that will be highly noticeable is that Nintendo will be throwing in Online Play.

Fire Emblem is making its way to the DS, and the latest issue of Famitsu has the first solid details following the game's announcement last year. The developer Intelligent Systems are making good use of the Wi-Fi service available for the DS. One feature that has been said for online mode is that battles take place with each player having a team of 5 units, the five units are chosen from what characters they have in story mode. Battles also take place over a variety of maps.

Fire Emblem is set to hit Japan August 7th, 2008. No word on an international release.
