Please Note This Is A Preview Of The Game That I Have Done Up Myself So Excuse Grammar Errors and Any Other Errors

So Sega isn’t known for doing any great RPGs, but rather ordinary ones, but that is all going to change with their upcoming Nintendo DS title World Destruction. Image Epoch are the current developers of this and have only released one other previous title Luminous Arc, which met mixed reviews, of course they have promised that they will be going all out on World Destruction.

If you are still a bit weary well you should know that some of the people working on it are also the ones who have worked on previous titles such as Xenogears, Final Fantasy VII and Chrono Trigger to name a few.



So now on to the actual details of the game. The story revolves around Kirie, the main character of the story, who has great destructive powers but the reason behind this is unknown to him. Another main character of the story is a female known as Morte, who is a young woman with a tragic past and also part of a terrorist organisation that have a plot to destroy the world, but this is a good thing as humans are enslaved by monsters.

So you know two of the main characters but I now will go on to explain the 6 main characters in a little more detail.

Kirie
Kirie is the story’s main character as explained before. He is gentle and self-assured person when he has to be but he won’t let everyone see such a side of him. Kirie soon finds himself apart of the terrorist organisation also to help destory the world with his great powers.

Morte
As said before Morte is part of a terrorist organisation and believes that she has been given the role to eradicate the world and all those around her. Morte is seen as a radical, bold, bright and easy going person. She always has a strong sense of achievement and tries to achieve everything to her fullest.

Agan
Agan is someone who grew up with Kirie and was a very close childhood friend of his. Agan is seen as a somewhat cynical and half baked person, meaning he likes to muck around whenever he gets the chance. However Agan although looks young was actually born 300 years before the set of the game.

Naja
Although details aren't clear it is believed that Nadja is either part of a group called World Relief Committee or someone out to destroy it. What is known is that Nadja is only half human and is someone who believes that he is always right.

Toppi
Although this character looks like a cute little bear you will be surprised. Toppi is a bounty hunter who works for an unknown guild and is someone you would not like to mess with. Throughout the game Kirie grows on Toppi and changes the way Toppi is although Toppi doesn't like to show it.

Graphics
The game won't be holding back in terms of what you see. There are many CGI cut scenes throughout the game similar to Final Fantasy XII on DS and others also.


2 CGI Cut-Scenes

The in game graphics however are similar to most RPGs and are highly detailed with a reported amount of 300 different scenes to go around you won't get bored with the surrounding area. Also when battling characters there will be more animated then when not in battle mode.



These are the kind of settings and in game backgrounds you will come across

Battle System
The battle system will take advantage by using both the top and bottom screen of the DS and the reason behind this is so that when fighting a boss the boss will fit in to both the bottom and top screens as not to be squished into the bottom. Characters you will control will be on the bottom screen and the DS stylus will only be used to select attacks, items and other similar options.

The battles will be turned based and Sega has said that much thought will have to go into battles as they will come up as strategic to many but still include much action.

Sound
The game will be using voice overs for the CGI cut scenes which has only be made recent in DS games. Also when characters perform a special attack or a perfect killer combo the characters voice will also be triggered. Voice selection is also going to be made available in the Japanese version, unknown about International, meaning you can choose how your character will sound.



Sega has also announced that a anime and manga series will be made based on the game and will be tied into the series some how.
