EA have announced that Need for Speed Undercover, the latest installment in the long running series, will be released worldwide this November. "Undercover takes the franchise back to its roots and re-introduces break-neck cop chases, the world's hottest cars and spectacular highway battles.” according to EA. Need for Speed Undercover will be released on the Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS, PlayStation Portable, PC, and mobile (iPhone).
Undercover will feature "big-budget live-action sequences" as well as the performance of actress Maggie Q (of Mission Impossible III and Live Free or Die Hard) who will portray Federal Agent Chase Linh. Undercover will feature a new game engine and be played in a sandbox world in a similar style to Need For Speed Most Wanted.
"I've always been a fan of racing games and working on Need for Speed Undercover was an amazing experience," said Maggie Q. "I was so impressed by the scope and quality of the overall production that goes into a videogame these days. It was like any other day on a Hollywood set; I felt right at home. The Black Box team is doing tremendous work here and I can't wait to see the final game."
Need for Speed Undercover will race onto Australian shores on November 21 2008, or perhaps it’ll sneak in undercover after it's made its debut in the US on November 18 2008. More information and less bad puns when it surfaces.
