*sigh*
Excitement AND 'they could have done so much more.'
If they ARE region locked (like DVDs - only games bought in region 4 will be compatible with region 4 DSis) them I'm already screwed because 2 of my current fave games (Disgaea DS and FFTA2) are imports.. BUT I think it's much more likely they'll only have the downloaded content region locked.. Which seems pointless anyway. And besides, we all know how to get our DVD players multi-region don't we??
Losing the GBA slot is a shame - I personally haven't used it, but I think it's great that they can create things for it like Guitar Hero. I was hoping that they'd come up with more plug- in acessories for that slot to go with real cool games instead of getting rid of it..
There has been mention of an internal disk, as well as SD input for storing and using music and photos. Say if I was playing Harvest Moon and I don't like the music in the game, could I be playing songs off a SD / internal hard drive instead? If so - WIN!
But maybe not win enough to make it worthwhile.
I'm not fussed what music file they need - I have me a whiz-bang contraption that can turn music into all sorts. I'm curious about this downloadable software and points system tho.. I suppose we won't really know what will be available for a while..
