The popular Settlers of Catan series that has found success on the Xbox Live Arcade after being a smash hit board game has been announced for the Nintendo DS. Titled Catan: The First Island the game will be ported from the mobile phone version, with improved visuals and controls we assume (not to mention really hope).

No details have emerged regarding gameplay or a release date for the DS version however we have a video of the mobile version if you want some idea of what this actually it. The board game has been around for a good decade so if you've never played it now is the time to start! We'll have some real details, screens or ridiculous controversies caused by foolish Lawyers as the actually emerge.
