For me, there's a place in Victoria (Australia) called Lakes Entrance. On the other side of the 'lake' is 90 mile beach, there are houses over there which are owned by the government (on 100 year leases usually to the original families)...

Anyway I used to spend a lot of my time drinking tequila and fishing at one of these. I don't know if I'll ever get back there but it was the most wonderful place in the world for me. Not the most exciting, but certainly the nicest spot in the prickly recesses of my mind.

i went there a couple of years ago. i didn't really know what to expect but i really enjoyed it. only went to berlin but i had a great time. just an awesome city, i advise anyone going to europe to visit there.
i went to massive street festival which took up about 10 blocks and each block had different music (eg. rock, punk, reggae, ethic etc.) it was so loud and so layed back. it was probably one of the most exciting places i've visited
