Software \ Cyclo ds sd card help

i get my cyclo ds and a 2 gig sd card tomorrow and i was wondering before downloading anything to it do i need to format it also do i have to format it to fat or fat32 i also don't know much about sd cards help would be appreciated

Most SD/MicroSD cards already come formatted. If yours doesn't you can format it in windows selecting FAT as the file system. If you google, there is also a tool specifically for formatting SD cards.
