M3 DS Simply Review - 9/10

The M3 DS simply is a slot-1 flash storage device for the nintendo ds. it is in the latest generation of slot 1 storage devices and is one of the latest and greatest out there today. it uses micro SD/Transflash memory cards for external storage, it can take up to 2gb cards. The M3 DS Simply has the ability to play Homebrew and backup Nintendo DS roms, listen to music, watch movies and view eBooks.

just for the record, the M3 DS Simply and the R4 DS are EXACTLY the same thing, and any rumors about that somes games can play on the R4 but not on the M3, are false.

Rom support
The M3 DS Simply fully supports all backup roms of retail games, with the exception of 'download play', which is essentially multi player support with only one game card. there is also one game, which will have freezing issues if you do not have the correct Micro SD card. Your M3 DS Simply will be able to hold up to about 30 homebrew games on a 1 gigabyte card, or up to about 60 games on a 2gb card, but it all depends on the size of the files because they can vary from 2mb to over 120 mb.
Multi-Media
the M3 DS Simply comes built in with moonshell as the default media player, moonshell is able to play .dpg video files (a converter is on the included cd) as well as playing Mp3, OGG, MOD, SPC and MDX music files. Moonshell can also view JPG, PNG, GIF and BMP image files. it is optional whether you want to use moonshell or another media player, but i'd recommend it.
Built-in cheat database
what really impressed me even more about my M3 DS Simply was the built-in cheat database which automatically recognizes when a cheat compatible game is on the cartridge and cheats can be enabled.
The menu
I wasn't really too impressed with the menu on the M3DSS because of the lack of touch screen support. what i did like though was how you are able to change the theme on the menu, and its really easy to load on user-created menu themes.

conclusion
I think that the M3 DS simply is a GREAT but and that all DS owners should have one, it is a definite MUST HAVE. if you don't have one i recommend you buy one right now.
