The original Opera DS Browser was underwhelming to say the least. Charged at the same price as a full DS game, it had slow low times and made surfing the net on your DS almost impossible. Thankfully, the free DSi Browser has been improved on several fronts, namely the speed.
You can check your Yahoo! And Gmail accounts with no problem, and social networking sites MySpace and Twitter work well, although Facebook is inaccessible. There is a lack of Flash support, meaning many sites won’t display properly and RSS feeds support is nowhere to be seen. The layout has been improved, with an address input, searching and favorites buttons all present and easily accessible.
Overall, the Opera DSi Browser is a basic browser for quick Internet surfing. Its free price tag makes it worth the download.

Compared to a desktop browser it is going to be dramatically slower, but compare it to other mobile browsers i think it goes all right, after all that is what it is. if you want to watch video then your computer is prob only 30 meters away 
unless you at a Maccas hotspot but then you should be eating your BIG MAC hehe

Also, I think that you should have mentioned lack of video and audio playback..unless that is included in the no flash support part.

Hmm got my Dsi setup with this yesterday, just remember it is a mobile browser and there are alot of mobile friendly websites out there, so yes you can access facebook at m.facebook.com
