No, it's not like Tetris. It only uses two mechanics that originated in Tetris.
You have a design made of white and black blocks. You draw one unbroken line over the design to make the white blocks turn black and the black ones turn white. When all the blocks in a row are the same color they disappear. And if you play on a certain mode, new designs drop from the top of the screen, and you have to clear existing ones (again, by drawing an unbroken line) to prevent the blocks from reaching the top.
