The highly anticipated Pokémon Platinum will be the third installment in the Diamond/Pearl Pokémon series when is bursts onto the Nintendo DS scene later this year, in Japan at least. The game will be an enhancement on the previous two titles in a similar way to Pokémon Yellow with Blue and Red, and Pokémon Emerald with Ruby and Sapphire. Giratina is the games mascot Pokémon, in his new Origin Forme, legendary Pokémon Shaymin will take on the alternate Sky Forme. The new storyline will involve a disturbance atop Mt. Coronet, as a portal to the "Ruined World" is opened and Sinnoh's climate becomes colder. Graphically the trainers have found themselves in new clothing to suit the cooler environment.

Australia, Europe, American and for that matter all other nations will have to wait until 2009 for their Pokémon fix. Japan is the only region who will see the title this year when it debuts on September 13. Check out the first commercial showing off some of the games improvements, most noticeably in the graphics department.
