In Japan, women will be able to have their own personal beauty consultant in the palms of their hands with cosmetic giant, Shiseido teaming up with Sega to offer beauty tips on your DS.
Project Beauty, which will go on sale from November 27 in Japan, is used with a scanning device that feeds digital images of the user's face into the DS, which analyses the shape and position of the eyes, lips and other parts.
It will be priced at US$55 which includes the scanning which matches faces with one of the four groups - cool, active, cute or feminine. Then it will show the user's face with no makeup on one screen, then a makeover selection on the other.
"The same user can have a variety of make-up tips for different occasions such as business, dating or formal gatherings. You would find colours that are good on you but you never realised before," Sega spokeswoman Rei Sugiyama said.
"The new software targets women in their 20s and 30s," she said, noting that the Nintendo DS has attracted many users, "including children, elderly people and women who were not considered core game players."
If users choose to do their own make-up, they can simulate an entire makeover by selecting the different shades and colours of lipstick, blusher, mascara etc. The user can also learn how to apply foundation and other basic skills.
So ladies, no more excuses, go buy a DS for yourself and do everyone a favor. Just kidding
(Oh God, I'm gonna get it now...)
