Pokemon is a game series (solely Nintendo based) that consists of numerous generations of Pokemon. Currently, we are in the 4th generation of Pokemon and have 493 Pokemon to use in our dream teams. The games may seem simple to an inexperienced player, however there is much to gain from learning the mechanics of the games such as DV training stats, Pokemon natures, special abilities and so on.
Pokemon natures are an important aspect of creating the perfect team. They are what determine your Pokemon’s stat strengths but also weaknesses. For instance, a Pokemon with TIMID nature has increased SPEED, however its ATTACK stat is reduced. These stat alterations are permanent; therefore it is beneficial to catch Pokemon with a desired nature before training it. For each stat (Attack, SP. Attack, Defense, SP. Defense and Speed) there are four natures that can raise the strength of the stat, but at the expense of another stat. There are also 5 particular natures that will have no affect whatsoever on your stats, so your Pokemon will grow up with no special influences on any stats. This can be advantageous, however in some (many) cases, increasing particular stats can turn a good Pokemon, into a great Pokemon.
Here is a briefing of what each Pokemon stat refers to:
Attack: The power of moves that (in theory) physically damage the opponent. Such move types that are consider to be affect by the ATTACK stat, are; Fighting, Steel, Normal, Rock, Poison, Bug
