Hardware \ Dead Pixels?!??!

So i bought a DS Lite and it had 2 dead pixels. I returned it, got a new one this new one ALSO has a dead pixel!

Anyone else have them, is it so common?

I was just thinking...it's possible that you might be replacing it with another DS from a faulty batch? The store would probably have DS's from the same batch so you may continue to get dead pixels.

I'd suggest just taking it back for a new one again..maybe it will be 3rd time lucky. If it continues though..i'd ask them to ORDER a new one in. It will be a pain in the butt waiting on it but you should end up with a completely perfect DS.

Keep taking it back untill you get one thats perfect

What your doing is against store policy in some franchises, your not allowed to open boxes if it comes pre-packaged.


I have one dead pixel on my DS Lite, far left and I can never see it. On my DS Fat I had a dead pixel in the same place.

In the original manuals for DS Fat, they actually did say that you are bound to get a dead pixel on occasion which they cannot help, but they did recommended that you return your DS if you had an excessive amount of them or if the dead pixels increased over time.

I had a DS lite with one dead pixel. When the image was static it was noticeable particularly if there was one background colour. But if the screen was showing moving animation, then it was not noticeable. Annoying but it had no effect on the actual gameplay.

Oooh..I can totally understand how that would be annoying! I sometimes think a scratch on my screen protector is a bug..I can imagine the dead pixel being a problem.
