To get shinies you need a Pokeradar. You then use the pokeradar along with repels in a patch of grass to chain pokemon, once the chain is high enough (30+) you might come across a shiny pokemon.

The precise number is 1out of 8192 to get a shiny. That doesnt mean if you see 8192 pokemon, then one will be guaranteed shiny, just the single pokemon has the 1/8192 chance. hope this helps

its colouring is different than a normal Pokemon, and stars swirl around it when in comes it of its Pokeball
