they do say "All price listed are exclusive of Tax, Australian orders will be subject to GST" on their front page, unsure how this affects things. If their selling overseas different taxes may apply so perhaps its a loophole of sorts

It depends on who he is selling to. i think its fine. its fully disclosed and transparent. What if you were one of his american customers who dont pay gst?? then the price would be even more misleading.

Although there is nothing stopping him from having a country drop down box with UK, AUS, USA etc and the price changing accordingly.

No. If you'd look at a receipt from a supermarket, prices are listed as they are, with the total amount of GST applying to the sale listed separately near the bottom before the total.

1. We either include GST in the price, and scare off all our international buyers, who buy law, we can't charge GST

2. We don't include GST in the price until someone has an account, and chooses there billing/shipping address.

I know its annoying, but we do tell people. We will be putting it up in our logo, with our ABN soon.

We give free shipping to aussies on every item, without mentioning it, no one complains about that.

We are still the cheapest in Australia for 95% of the products on the website. Australia is a tiny market though. 600,000 of DS's in Australia, but there nearly 50 million worldwide. I'm not going to miss out on that market.

We mention that too. If you are getting free postage, we aren't going to spend extra money in sending a paper box. This is written down on EVERY ds page. But only 20% of people read it. What more can you ask someone to do? If someone isn't willing to read, then they shouldn't be purchasing something.

Lol welcome to retail mate. We put safety cones accross our driveways to stop people coming in when our system crashes and people pull up, get out of there car move the cones and then come inside and ask why they cant get petrol. Ummmm...... were closed?????

Generally (after working retail for many years) people are lazy, unattentive and/or plain stupid. They wont read anything you put infront of them until its too late.

As for the drop down box? Why wont it work, ive seen it in hundreds of sites and it works fine.
