Send it back to Nintendo - the white one's are notorious for breaking at the hinge. You might get it fixed for a small fee or even replaced.

I don't know about Nintendo Australia, but Nintendo America has a whole section dedicated to this problem, last time I looked.

I woke up the other morning and my son, who is a month away from being 3, was sitting on the lounge chair with my DS lite open, turned on and tapping on the screen with the stylus. He also had my two pokemon stragegy guides on the lounge open besides him. These kids these days are too bloody clever.

dude it feels worse when you're actually looking at it in your hands - i felt a little pain in my chest when i first saw it snap.
maybe i'll try to superglue it first. if that doesn't work then i'll probably get a new shell.

In my view I think it would be hard to take all the stuff out of your broken shell and put it in a new one. Unless you have done it before or know how its done I would be taking it to someone that deals in that sort of thing. Maybe a mod chip guy.

i ordered a replacement shell and it arrived 2 weeks ago. it didn't come with instructions whatsoever! so i slowly, and carefully, did the operation myself. boy, i tell you, the DS lite is one tricky sonabiatch to dismantle. the screens are held in place only by the plastic case, and as soon as you open the casing the screens slide around like jelly on ice skates! anyway after an hour or so, i was nearing the end. i've transfered the innards into the new shell, all i had to do was snap the casing together, and i'm all done.

snap. yes, something snapped all right. the power button snapped! freakinsonabab1atch!!!!!!!!!! after another hour of cursing, i calmed down, and started laughing at my fate.

then i went on ebay to order a power switch.....
