Ahh Yes Very True!!! We Have A Wise One!!

But In Terms Of Defense... Siege Engines Are often very Weak, Warships Can Sink FAST! But Castles Often Hold True.... Especially With An Iron Gate.....

Which Is Strongest:

Warship, Siege Weapon, Castle

Best Defense:

Castle

Best Attack:

Siege Engine

Best All Round:

Warship



I Would Answer Comparisons Are Odious Each of These Do Different Jobs And To Win You Must Have Them All!

What time in history did you come from? Castles, during a siege, could only house typically a few hundred people (typically 100-300). If a long siege was expected, all the civilians would be thrown out so that the soldiers inside could hold out for longer with the stored provisions.

The order is warship/siege engine, then castle. Warships have the advantage of long range and maneuverability, but obviously can only be employed near the coast. Siege engines were employed outside the effective range of a castle's defenders, and the only defence against them was for the defenders to 'sortie' out from the castle to attack the siege engine directly.

In all cases the castle is sitting in the middle of contested ground, open to all attack. It can defend for a long time, but it has no real strength in terms of attack.
