When i rang Nintendo a couple of months ago to ask about buying a US DS and using it down here in Oz, they told me that i'd be better off buying the Oz charger from them for around $30. Using a USB cable with your computer will be fine though, its a much cheaper option.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES try to use the charger that came with it with an adapter. 240 volts going through a 120v adapter will only throw your safety switch, blow a fuse or just burn out rrrreeeeaaaallll quick !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT WORTH IT.
On another note spyke, are you aware that having bought your DS from the US, the warranty isn't worth sneezing on, i'd take real good care of that unit if i were you. that's the only reason i paid a bit more and bought mine here. truth be known you can save a ton of money buying stuff like that from the US at the minute.
