Hardware \ Newbie question on setting up R4

I just received an R4 and formatted it and loaded the 1.14 kernel and copied all the files. Put it in a NDS (not ds lite) and turned it on and I get the R4 logo on the top screen and 3 boxes on the bottom screen. Down at the bottom it says v1.14, Game and the date and time. I have put some nds roms in the folder NDS but when I touch the game icon (the squareface box) it says can't find NDS or GBA cart in S2. Do you want to boot to NDS mode? If I touch yes, the screen goes grey. What am I doing wrong?

Apologies for the question if it is already answered but I did had a look first but did not see anything.

Thanks 'says' Did a bit of search on Youtube and found that I was touching the wrong icon. It is working now except I can't seemed to get the 'soft reset' to work. The manual says press L+R+A+B+X+Y but it doesnt seem to work for me. And the sfot reset icon is green so it should work. All help appreciated.

I didn't even get a manual with mine. I just realised there was a built in Action replay 2 weeks ago after having the R4 for about 18 months

unpack your zipped'ed game file and put the NDS file in. if you have done the system folder and made an nds folder

Your original problem is that you tried to boot up Slot 2. You should be using the first icon on the left, not the one on the right.

To soft reset you have to have the R that is in the top right of the touch screen whilst in the directory to be green, do this by pressing the red R or by pushing the R shoulder button

Some game have faults where by they will not soft reset.
Although this site is for the M3 they will be the same as for R4 m3wiki.com/ . Just find the game you have and check if it has a line through soft reset.

I found the whole thing rather confusing when I opened my R4. However, some quick research on Youtube gave me a videoed tutorial on how to set up your R4.
