you dont need to format it i didnt format my micro just copy the m3 system folder to it and make a new folder in the micro called nds for your games .

editi dont know weather you need to buy a new card but for the sake of easiness i would then just copy onto it dont format it

but even if i dont format the card, i can't seem to get the system file to transfer onto the card, it gives me the cyclic redundancy error.

can you copy and paste other folders to it ?

ARE you copying it from the disc ?
if so copy it to a folder first then to micro

download the software from here and put it on

i cant copy and paste anything at all into it because it gives me the CRC error. The system folder i am trying to copy is currenty sitting on my desktop.
Ive just tried another micro SD card and the exact same problems happen.
When i try to delete something off of the card it says the folder/file cannot be found and to make sure i am using the correct path.
When i try to drag and drop any type of file onto the card it gives me the CRC error.

oh i dont know ..
it kind of sounds like your pc isnt reading the card

edit whip up to the shops and get another card and reader, lol

i tried using it via the usb card reader on my laptop aswell and it gave me the same problems.
so now i have just gottan my phone and connected it as a mass usb storage device with the SD inside and i was able to format it that way.
ive just also uploaded the system files and a nds rom to test and it worked with me using my phone to transfer the files, however this was very slow.
Im guessing i just got sent a faulty T-flash card reader,
so my next question is; does anyone know where i can pick up a usb micro sd adapter?

do you mean for the micro card to resize to normal sd size ?or do you mean a micro usb reader ?

yeh i just meant the micro usb reader.
i would send it back but its not much of a problem, usb micro readers are fairly cheap from what i have read up on.

at first i thought you had a usb port problem til you tried it with the laptop... i got a bum flash card reader with an M3 too... try a computer shop, but i have found in oz that the little micro sd's arent so popular yet, but you can however easily find any type of card reader that will handle a regular SD card, and use a full size SD adapter for the micro card to be used in the card reader, that works... bigW/Walmart has a usb SD card flash drive for 20 bucks, not the 'best' deal but with that you use the adapter (your micro sd 'should' have came with one) to use in that little gizmo... but i can get a card reader from my local puter shop for like 13 bucks, just depends on what ya want i spose...

for some decent prices, and as i look they have all the gizmos needed for card reading too, this is the place to look....

yeah, that is the same thing i am talkin bout at bigW for 20 bucks, but can get it cheaper at mwave among other places... first rule of thumb, never buy anything at dick smith, unless you know you are getting the same deal or better than you can get somewhere else, which is pretty rare for dickie smith, or you are just plain desperate for an item...

dougmore i looked at your link and nearly pisSed my pants 29.95 for one is way to much but dse are normally good i paid 6.00 for a sd reader/writer as my card came with a sd/micro adapter

Well that too, but ebay, a great concept, has became polluted with people that try to run shops and make profit... and generally unless you dig for endless hours (for the things i would want anywho)all you get are overpriced items, and nowadays the knock off items (cheaper lookalikes) are pretty common there too... then they yang ya on shipping! i have never bought anything from ebay, and probably never will...

i have always found things cheaper/better than ebay...
