whether we want them to or not, they will if they want to... the ds is 4 years old now, so maybe within the next year or two something might emerge, but either way, if so, i am sure it will be another fabulous nintendo creation worthy of the buckage... if not, no biggie, i am still enjoying, as many others are, the nintendo ds... if you are up on japan news, they are now promoting and allowing kids to take their ds's to school and use them in the class environment, and it has been a huge success! so sales continue to boom, and new uses are sure to still be developed... if nothing else the ground ideas for the next system are being laid and expanded upon probably with all the new data/feedback from teachers and students regarding likes, uses, and possible future needs with the system... Go Nintendo! give me an N! give me an I!







*unless of course the next venture is the nintendo virtualboy DS, then i might pass and take back the cheer....

I don't want one, particularly, but if one comes out and it is as cool and as revolutionary as the DS initially was (and still is) then I will probably buy it... I am sure there will be a certain amount of backwards compatibility in whatever Nintendo do because not to do so will immediately alienate some users. Also, just because a new system comes out doesn't mean that the old will die a(n immediate) death. There is still plenty of life in the DS, and loads of good games left to play. Why upgrade to a new system and forsake the old one when there is still a lot of fun to be had?

At anyrate, i'm still happy with my original DS, i didnt trade mine in for a DS Lite, after seeing my bro's one (which im blinded nearly every time i use it ) and seeing how much better they are, i'm still content using mine
If they did bring out a 3rd version of the DS, i still probably wouldn't buy it, unless it was what the GBA was to the GBC

PSP2 has a TBA and is in development unless it turned out to be the slim. I can't remember.

Of course they'll make one, its just when? I think if they were in the development stages they should look at some of the uses these cards like the R4 etc open up within the DS and make it standard.

I can see the DS2 (I guess it already is to a degree) becoming a full blown PDA, iPod, mobile phone, internet browser, handheld game machine & camera. Also....this idea of using them in classrooms is really interesting. I'm sure there is a huge future in this, great stuff.
