Hardware \ Why do we love the DS so much?

Why is the DS such a good hand held?
is it the look? is it the feel? is it the games? is it the ability to do almost anything? why has it become the console we know today.

how will we decide what makes it the best hand held of all time.

for me its the adaptability, the look, and the most important thing the FUN.

I like the DS because there's so many games available many of then exclusive as well. There's also an endless supply of accessories, it's fun for everyone, it's the perfect size, it has excellent batter life, and there's a really good home brew scene for it.

I like the dual screens - partly nostalgia (original Dongkey Kong Game and Watch, anyone?) and partly it just feels better.

And I'm a Nintendo fan-girl.

I loved Zelda, but i regret not playing it for all this time. It's been months now I gotta start playing it again.

I like the DS because Nintendo did something different when they already had something like 90% of the handheld market (back with the GBA) they still made an initiative new console when they could have gotten away with just improving the graphics and when ended up with an entirely new gaming experience.
