No this isn't a chat about how you're the center of the universe, it's about Square-Enix's new game 'The World Ends With You' due out later this year. Personally I'm excited as hell about this one, just because it looks really creative and blends a lot of different game play styles from Final Fantasy to more Sims like elements, and then puts it all against a pop-culture background with even little DDR elements.

I'm very sick of seeing the same cookie cutter games on the DS and WEWY (that can me our official acronym for it ) looks to be something very different.

Anyone else excited?

I've been talking to our boys at Ubisoft at getting a hands on, Square-Enix seems to be playing tough about letting it out too much yet.

Yep, after I raved on about how excited I was about it during my meeting at Ubi they turned over a copy to me. Pre release tastes so good

And I'm serious about the headphones, amazing soundtrack. And the combat, and the dialogue, and and and everything


Edit: I'm a bit further in, this game is seriously innovative, regardless of platform

Edit 2: The visual lay out of the environments is sooooo good, massively stylized but so much more interesting that so much stuff that has come before it, regardless of platform.

Edit 3: wow this is pretty dark

I know what you mean with FF, this is a whole different breed though, you'll find some familiar elements from the RPG style but it's like.... something very different and cool

lol I know you've been waiting for this as much as me So far I think this is basically everything we could have wanted out the title. Get the dosh together, then we can trade items!
EDIT: OH NOES! It doesn't support WFC!!!!!!!!
Still, buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy!

If anyone is curious it's got this mix of real time play (ie our time) and in game time, it's really cool. Some things work on the games time (like the plot for example) but other stuff works on a real time day to day basis, it's an amazing mesh of the two.
