Hardware \ Strange Start up sound?

My DS is stuffed. At least I think it is.
See, you know when you start up your DS and you here a chime like sound? Well the sound just got a lot higher! Like a high pitch chime sound!

But the thing is everything is fine. My games work and it turns on.

This is one theory that might be a bit crazy.
It is my birthday today (1/6/08), is that why it would have a different start up noise? But to me that's kind of ridiculous.
