You'd have to be pretty bad at maths if Brain Age can help you 'a convincing amount'.

It might be useful for topics like Maths and English, but you can only learn so much by using that. Such as in subjects like P.E, it is mostly a practical topic, so it wouldn't really work with it.
Plus, I don't see the difference between learning off a Nintendo DS or other technology then by learning out of a Text Book.
But I do think that as time passes, Text Books will be faded out, and Technology will take over.

Nope, the department of Education would'nt aprove of this. This is because how do you know that students won't bring there own games to school and use the ds to play there own games. Unless they use the system that game stores use. But still the brain games only teach basis of maths and English, I won't compare to a actual textbook of info.

Yet the Department of Education are allowing Laptops to replace textbooks?

I think its a good idea, just too warm up childrens brains in a fun and enjoyable way.

Japan encourages bringing/using DS in schools unless they have made it mandatory everyone have one now, not sure. American uses them all the time as well, some for learning, others chat with friends (I think about using it to cheat on tests, but they can always make certain DS's are down during tests). And laptops are required for college, and are used in some high schools as well depending on what you take. Either DS's or Laptops are valuable tools and great for learning aids and i feel that if you dont utilize them in school, then you are only moving backwards in terms of education.

Colleges even give laptops to students for use so everyone is on the same level. Sure you can use others, but it is included in tuition. Not to mention free wireless access campus wide! but it has been that way for many years...

If japan does it, it is probably a good idea, if america does it, it is probably a good idea. If BOTH do it, then it is a no brainer that it is the way to go!
