Nintendo Wi-Fi \ Few questions about wi-fi. - Locked

Okay, one game in particular (Poke'mon Pearl/diamond) I have a few questions about.
First off, does the DS run off wifi the same way as the wii? Cause the net works fine off my Wii with a d-link router.
Second, can you battle random people off the wifi system, or is it friends code only?
Third, how come i'm the only one in the union room? Is this normal?

Anyway, answers and furthur info would be greatly appreciated.

No, you cannot battle random people off the wi-fi system. But you can trade with random people using GTS on pokemon.(Global Trade Centre)
Your the only one in the union room because the Union room is for people who are close to you in person. Doesn't work with wi-fi.I think of it as Upstairs Poke Centre is for Wireless, Downstairs poke centre is for Wi-Fi.

Actually I've got something to add re. DS and wifi, seeing as dermy asked about running it using a D-Link router.

Certain revisions of D-Link routers work, but you have to run your network on either WEP security or no security. DS doesn't support WAP.
