Yөshї's Island DS - 8/10
Yoshi's Island DS is a sequel the the original Yoshi's Island on the Super Nintendo.
Yoshi's Island DS explores a unique new style of colorful crayon-like graphics which are very nice to look at, although some people may find them quite irritating. the graphics in this game look a little baby-ish so some gamers may be easily turned off by this.
The game play in Yoshi's island DS is very interesting and unique to platform games because you are controlling Yoshi throughout the game, while one of the super Mario babies rides on his back. each baby gives Yoshi an ability that will help you get past a level, E.G Peach has an umbrella that catches onto the wind and helps her and Yoshi fly in the sky. you will need to switch babies at least once per level to reach the end. There is a number of flowers that are hidden on each level, as well as a hidden Mario coin that can be pretty challenging to find which adds a re playability factor to the game. Yoshi can also transform in to a number of cute vehicles, like an aeroplane, tractor, or submarine.
What is disappointing about the game play is that it is far too easy for experienced gamers who a looking for a challenge.
Now, to talk about the sound. well i turn the sound off when i play. i don't know about other people but i find the sounds and music pretty annoying in this game, some people might like the music though, although i personally don't.
A bad thing about this game though is the lack of Multi player support, and i can think of many possibilities that multi player could explore in this game, like mini games or something like that.
Inc conclusion Yoshi's Island DS is a fun and interesting game no matter what age you are. if you're sick of dark stressful games then this game is for you, and i will guarantee you will enjoy it thoroughly. This game is a great platform game which looks nice and colorful, except it does have its bad points which let it down.
