Final Fantasy Tactics - 10/10

FFTA is a turn based rpg game made by Square Enix in the ever popular Final Fantasy Series. It was the first one to come out on GBA and would have to be one of the best.

You play as Marche. A young boy who lives in the town of Ivalice (same place as FFXI). He and his friends Ritz and Mewt find a magical book that is full of magical creatures such as Moogles and Viera. That night there town is transformed and they are all transported to the magical world inside the book.

During the game you can play as a number of different races. Human, Moogle, Nu Mou, Bangaa and Viera. Each of these races has the own different set of jobs you can maken them be eg. Alchemist for Nu Mou and Summoner for Viera.

The game is played on a large grid. This is probably one of the best features of the game meaning you can choose where you want to go or which way you want to face.

The game is especially good as you can have up to around 20 people in your party and you can train them all up so to have an unbeatable party.

There are shops scattered all throughout the game. Here you can buy a whole range of items including weapons, shields, potons and clothes. Most weapons have a hidden ability. It works like this. If you want to train your Viera up to become a summoner you can't just make her one. You have to have a certain amount of asbilities of another job befofe you can do this. In this case 2 white magic and 3 elementalist. You set the weapon to the character(Use the white rod to learn cure) Then do a few battles and your character should have mastered that move.

Your character can have a maximum of 2 skills at any one time. this can be a lot of fun. For example: you could have an archer with summoning skills. This would be a major advantage as it lets you fire your spells long distance. Imagine sending Ifrit the whole way across the battle area to kill a dragon. Now that's strategy.

All in all, this is one of the best GBA games going around and I highly recommend it.
