Need for Speed Carbon: Own the City - 7/10
The need for speed series started out as PC and play station games, back in 1995. since then many other great Need for Speed games have been released. I will review DS version of the latest game, Need for Speed Carbon: Own the City.
Game play:-8/10 The game play in NFSC:OTC is really fun for many reasons, it is fast paced and easy to play.although, you can get quite frustrated sometimes when tiny mistakes result in you losing a race, for example, when you're coming first in a race and it's the final lap, you bump into some traffic and your opponents fly past you and you have no chance of catching up so you lose.
A great thing about this game is the hundreds of customizable add-ons for your car which make this game just that bit more fun to play because you really feel like your racing your car.
Sound:-8/10
The sound in this game has a cool soundtracks with some good songs that suit the game. It features some good songs like joker & the thief by Wolf mother and Sugar by Ladytron. although when you play the game enough you can get pretty damn sick of the same 5-8 songs (not sure how many) being repeated over and over again.
Multi player:-6/10
I haven't personally used the multi player features myself but from what iv'e read, it's fairly good because of the single-card multi player, up to four players can play the game with only one card although the features will be limited unless the full game is bought. Unfortunately there is no online capabilities for this game which would be fun.
Controls:-4/10
the controls of this game are OK. one of the major negative points about this game is the location of the accelerator which is the R shoulder button. after playing this game for a while, it can become very uncomfortable to play.
To sum it all up, I'd say get this game if you like games where you can customize your own cars, or if you've previously played and enjoyed the console versions and you'd like a portable version

A pretty honest review slimed, well done.
You call it how you see it and no fanboy guff
My eldest has just bought this.
Have played single-card multiplayer and it seems limited to the same car for everyone but you choose the colour.
You can't really expect more from single-card - in a way single-card plays like a demo.
Multi-card would be the kicker - I'd expect true head-to-head with different vehicles but I have yet to see this for myself.
Regarding the controls - I thought that there were more profiles (the one you were using being the default) or that you could customise them to your own preferences. Is this not the case?
Cheers!
