Overview 10 games ported from Atari to DS. Asteroids, Breakout, Centrepede, Gravitar, Lunar Lander, Missle Command, Pong, Sprint, Tempest, Warlords. Apart from the original games there is also a remix of each game which is supposed to be a jazzier version. Asteroids I played this in the arcades, Atari 2600 and Commodore 64 and now the DS. This game contained all the original sounds of the real thing from the Arcade version. Playability was very good with either the stylus or game pad. This was the only game out of all ten that I actually was not disappointed with. In the remix they basically put in a colourful scrolling backround and coloured in the shapes and made them 3D looking. The 3D looking was good but the scrolling back round interfered with the game. Remix of Asteroids Break Out I played this on the Atari 2600 and the DS version is a good port. The sounds is just like the original and everything looks similar. I thought the game play was good but a little slow. The use of the stylus was excellent for controlling this game and as good as the paddle for the 2600. Playing this with the gamepad was hopeless. In the remix it is just like the original with a few graphic changes. The remix is a disgrace and makes a mockery of the original. Centrepede I played this in the Arcade but do not recall playing it on Atari or any other console. I have since played it using MAME on PC and now on DS. The game plays just like the original. Using the stylus seems best but the game is playable with the gamepad. This game did not ruin the nostalgia for me which was good. The remix is just like the original with a few graphic changes. The remix is terrible and is tacky compared to the original. Gravita I have never heard of this one. I tried playing it but it was near impossible to play with either stylus or gamepad. It looks very similar to Asteroids. The remix once again was a coloured in version of the original and makes it harder to play. Lunar Lander I played this in the arcade, Atari 2600 C64 and PC. The game was as boring as hell then and still is. It is true to the original but the remix is a laugh. Missile Command I guess you are sick of hearing where I played the games so I will stop. This is true to the original with sound and graphics. Playing with the stylus is good. You have to push a shoulder button to get your aim higher onto the second screen which can make control a little tricky. The Remix is actually better than the original for once. Same game but actually looks better without being tacky. Remix Version Pong The first video game ever invented. How proud must Nintendo be to have this ported to DS. What can I say. It was a simple game and still is. True to the original. The remix is a cheap jazz up that looks crap. Multi card play available. Sprint Looks like the original but unplayable on DS. The remix is crap. Multi card play available. Tempest Never heard of it or played it. It looks similar to a game called gyruss but no where near as good. Once again the remix is shocking. Warlords I never played this either but its not a bad game. As I have never seen the original the remix looks ok as well. Multi card play available. Conclusion I was totally disappointed with this set of games. I do not recommend them to anyone for any age group. I showed my primary school aged son and he shrugged his shoulders and played pokemon. A game enthusiast may get about 30 minutes out of this and thats it. Graphics - 1/10 Story - 1/10 Gameplay - 1/10 Sound - 2/10
