Overview Race your fingers to the bone in this challenging fast paced racing game. Earn credits to upgrade and customize your car and buy new cars with different attributes. As this is about remote control (RC) cars, most of the perspective is from above and objects like tunnels can impede your view just like in real life. Gameplay - 9/10 Most racing games you start off on the first track, take off and blaze your way to glory. As you progress the tracks and competition get harder. This game is more realistic. If you were to start racing RC cars and you had never done it before, do you think you would win your first race? Most reading this would say no and only smarty pants would say yes. You will probably get your back side kicked the first time you play this game. There are 4 leagues in tournament mode but it took me about 7 seasons to make it to the second league. I finished last in the next season so I went back to league number 1. The game is tuff and it takes a while to build up your car. You really have to learn the tracks to get ahead in this game as some turns cannot be seen as you are going through a tunnel etc. Once your car is at its maximum it is time to buy new cars to help you progress through the game. Sometimes repairs on your car cost more than what you made during the race. Once most cars are purchased and upgraded you can then choose the most appropriate car for any given track. Some cars don’t turn well but have good high speed so are great for tracks with lots of straights and others are the reverse. There are a couple of good all-rounder cars but you can get an edge by choosing the most appropriate car. You always race against 3 other opponents and their choice of vehicle is extremely random. Sometimes you will have easy to beat cars and other times not. After finishing all 4 leagues, having most cars and upgraded them all I started again from scratch. As the AI cars are random they also have upgraded cars so now even league 1 became more difficult and you really had to make sure you kept you line and concentrated to gain enough points to win the league and progress to the next. *Example of an obscured view* Graphics - 8/10 Some tracks the graphics are average but on others they are sensational and on others breath taking. Some of the tracks go through a house and the shiny floors are sensational. Most of the textures on the varied surfaces have been done very well and look realistic. One level is played on a skyscraper being built and the depth of view and sensation of being high off the ground is brilliant. Sound - 7/10 The whining noise of electric engines isn’t something you will be wanting to listen too a lot but thankfully the retro sounding music is great. The techno sound track just reminds me of something you would hear while playing old arcade games like 1942 or similar. Sound effects varied depending on location, like barking for the back yard and traffic for in the streets. The squealing of the tires did get annoying but FX could be turned off in the options. Conclusion This game just got better as you went along. It went from hard to easy and then hard again. This varying difficulty gives the game a huge life span. Mini RC rally also has local multiplayer mode.
